Accelerated Life Testing Model Building with Box-cox Transformation

چکیده
In accelerated life testing, the nominal life time is often related to stress levels by an acceleration equation. Three particular models that have been used frequently in the past are the power law model, the Arrhenius model and the Eyring model. In this paper we suggest choosing a model from a model family which includes the three particular models as special cases. This family is deened by a Box-Cox transformation on the stress variable. There are two beneets to use this proposal: (1) model tting could be treated in an uniied way; and (2) the tted model is more robust to model assumptions. We demonstrate this method with some numerical examples.

OPTIMUM GENERALIZED COMPOUND LINEAR PLAN FOR MULTIPLE-STEP STEP-STRESS ACCELERATED LIFE TESTS
In this paper, we consider an i.e., multiple step-stress accelerated life testing (ALT) experiment with unequal duration of time . It is assumed that the time to failure of a product follows Rayleigh distribution with a log-linear relationship between stress and lifetime and also we assume a generalized Khamis-Higgins model for the effect of changing stress levels. Taking into account that the...
متن کاملDesign and Analysis of Step Stress Accelerated Life Tests for Censored Data}
Life testing often is consuming a very long time for testing. Therefore, the engineers and statisticians are looking for some approaches to reduce the running time. There is a recommended method for reducing the time of failure, such that the stress level of the test units will increase, and then they will fail earlier than normal operating conditions. These approaches are called accelerated li...

This paper, determines the confidence interval using the Fisher information under progressive type-II censoring for the k-step exponential step-stress accelerated life testing. We study the performance of these confidence intervals. Finally an example is given to illustrate the proposed procedures.
متن کاملA Simple Transformation Method in Skewness Reduction
Statistical analysis of non-normal data is usually more complicated than that for normaldistribution. In this paper, a simple root/power transformation technique developed by Niaki, et al [1]is extended to transform right and left skewed distributions to nearly normal. The value of theroot/power is explored such that the skewness of the transformed data becomes almost zero with anacceptable err...
متن کاملDesign of Accelerated Life Testing Plans for Products Exposed to Random Usage
< p>Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) is very important in evaluating the reliability of highly reliable products. According to ALT procedure, products undergo higher stress levels than normal conditions to reduce the failure times. ALTs have been studied for various conditions and stresses. In addition to common stress such as temperature and humidity, random usage can also be considered as anoth...
